And the Book/Stencil Winner is Roberta!!!
as chosen via the random number generator
Who on earth has their editor actually participate in their book?? Ummmm, that would be me......ahem. But listen, I just had to, I mean Tonia Davenport is not only the best editor around, she is the consummate foodie and was so into my book idea I just wanted her to actually be in the book too. Thank goodness she agreed and made a wonderful plexi project, plexi being her thing, after all, so now plexi is one of my things too because I like it an awful lot.
Another one of Tonia's talents is hand sewing. Her attention to detail (editor trait I believe) is amazing thus her hand work is quite nice. You will not believe what she has made for our give away this week!??! Check out this apron - made with one of my stencils, how entirely cute is this?!?!
Is it for cooking? Is it for Art-making??
Who knows, but WHO CARES, it is so friggin' cute. I am bummed that I can't enter the contest myself. Very very bummed. But yes, you can. You can enter to win #1 The Apron or #2 The Book and Stencil (that Tonia used) so you can make an apron for yourself.
So be sure and leave me a comment below to enter this week's contest. Tell me whether you will make food or art while wearing this apron. Because I am curious and, well, curious minds need to know. I will draw a winner when I get back from Valley Ridge on May 16th.And also click on over to the Create Mixed Media site where Tonia posted another hand sewing project, this one for patches on jeans. I want to do this. God only knows I have tons of paint stained clothing, I may as well do something cute!!
I would proudly wear it at EncastiCamp this July.
ReplyDeleteSee you there....

ilovethisapron! wow! i would wear it for art making as i don't often cook :/
ReplyDeletethat being said, maybe i should hope for the book so i can get art tips AND cooking tips!
i'd wear this colorful and beautiful apron while making art, and after awhile, the paint splatter and ink would just add more layers and personality. It might also be fun to wear out...hmmm. Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteLove the apron! She did a fantastic job and using your cool stencil too! I'd love to win the apron I know it would inspire me while I paint. Another great give away Mary Beth.
ReplyDeleteI would probably wear it for art making, especially to show it off to my other arty friends who will "get" how awesome it is !
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance for all the goodies, MaryBeth ! How I wish I was traveling to VR to hang with you...
Enjoy !
What a wonderful apron! As I plan to try out more things in the kitchen... I think I would use this beauty for cooking.
ReplyDeleteI'd wear for both cooking and creating here at the Love Shack ;) Since my studio is in the dining room and I feel creative weather I'm in the kitchen or the studio. Lovely apron!!
ReplyDeleteMB.. you're really going to make me choose cooking or art. How about if I do both.. throw some sauce on the stove and while it's simmering run up and do some art and hopefully build up some more layers of love... Getting spaghetti sauce on my apron is a layer, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI would wear this in the litchen to be inspired after a day of artmaking....you know...keep the creative energy flowing right into the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI would wear it in Italy in September when I go to my art journey through Orvieto. This year will be more meaningful because I should be finished with my treatments by then and it will be time to celebrate life.
ReplyDeleteOh I could really use a new apron for the studio! And to wear one from you and Tonia?! Wrapped up in inspiration. Love the book MB
ReplyDelete(and Tonia's part in it)
I would wear it to do art.. or maybe I would wear it when I go shopping or out to dinner. I think aprons should be worn more often for everyday things outside the house as well as inside, as there are so many cute ones out there!
ReplyDeletebeautiful apron - tonia inspires me 'fabrically' - love what she whips up. you know i love the book too...
ReplyDeletei would wear this apron in the kitchen, i'm a very messy artist so i would love to wear this artsy apron when i bake and cook.
I will make artistic food from my new cookbook "Zombies Ate My Cup Cakes".
ReplyDeleteBeautiful apron and lovely book!

I think I would have to wear it while making art, although I must be careful and not get anything on it. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLoving the stencils, too, Mary Beth.
I'd definitely wear it for making art. And occasionally I'd wear it when driving thru. Does that count? LOL Actually, I'd probably frame it. Love the book!! Congrats on that.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble posting comments.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a difficult decision to make: #1 or #2. I'll choose #1, because it's unlikely I'd get around to making the apron, and I could really use one. It would be used for both art making and cooking.
I wish you'd choose randomly, because the book looks fantastic too.
I think I would just have to wear the apron all day long--oh what a conversation piece.
ReplyDeleteThat's a big stencil! : )
ReplyDeleteJust saw your great stencils at Hampton a couple weeks ago at Art and Soul and remembered to write your name down so I could look you up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at the goodies.

love the stencil...love the apron....and just love you Mary Beth!
ReplyDeleteI would make art while wearing this apron. But I have to admit I would LOVE to make one for myself which would then lead to making some for my mom and at least 3 friends! Yippee!
ReplyDeleteThis is a piece of art that appears to have creative powers to help you "whip up" both a culinary feast and artistic masterpiece! Beautiful translation into fabric!
