I've mainly been playing in my journal with the stencil masks - because that is what many of them are, masks. It is a subtle distinction in the stencil world. For me, I think of masks as the thing you reach for to cure all your mistakes, ha! I mean look at this page:

ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the paper towel sample! My hesitation in using stencils is always that they speak so strongly of the designer (and Traci's style is especially strong!) Thanks for giving some ideas about how to break away from that.
ReplyDeleteMary Beth I agree that adding some color can fix almost anything. I'm feeling so much freedom now that I'm breaking out the masks and stencils. I love using the high flows to add bright color and then journaling to edges adds interest as well.
