The Word

Lots of folks are picking One Word for the year 2010. I am not sure if I can stick with just one. I was thinking more like one a month? But I am going to give it a try.
Many years I have chosen 'Balance' as my word; in fact, I have picked it over and over to the point it is embarrassing, I mean really.
Once I started thinking about it, lots of words came to mind but I wanted something a little different, not the same ole, same ole, you know?
Then I knew I had it. Popped into my head lickety split and that.was.it.
I was thinking along the lines of 'Spread your wings'. It's kinda like stretching (see Gilligan, above) but I think it feels more positive.
So, Spread it is!
For the moment anyway.

  1. Spread - first thought in my mind was my "spread" after eating Christmas cookies this holiday- what comfort food while I suffered with a miserable cold for 2 weeks. I think I'll choose "Firm" as my word, as in firm it up, Peg. Happy New Year!

  2. there are so many ways to go with this word....just don't spread yourself too thin !!

    BUT HEY....I do like a word a month....now you're on to something !

  3. Love the idea of spread your wings - reminds me of my word a little - emerge, like coming up out of the water or like a butterfly emerging from a coccoon... I think you (and Gillian !) will do really well at focusing on the word spread...as long as you don't go to spread yourself too thin !;)
I agree with beth, a word a month could be just fine too...
    Happy New Year !

  4. Spread could be a dangerous word. LOL!! But spread your wings is great! I like that definition! The world is now your playground. Go for it girl!!!

  5. I'm with Peg, that is what comes to my mind from personal experience of course!!! And, check out my cat spread out on the couch!!! Too funny that we both caught them is a huge stretch. Hmmm, I like the work stretch!!! :)

Wishing you a blessed New Year!

  6. Choosing one word is a very hard task. I normally will choose a symbol vs. a word since it can take on a variety of meanings. I think spread is a grand word because I can see you spreading all your super good mojo with your art and your teaching! Wishing you the very best 2010!

  7. I like the idea of this, as you can add parts of yourself to so many different aspects of your life! Thanks for stopping by my spot and participating in the challenge with me! I'm excited about getting to know you this year and seeing where your word takes you.
